SPFX KIDS - Fresh Brains Level 1

Introduction to "Out of Kit" SFX Makeup

(July 12 - 16 & July 26 - 30)

Suggested for Ages 9 -13 

In this course we will go through the fundamentals, kit care, safety measures, product identification, tools and techniques, biology of human injury response, bruises, fresh scrapes, road rash, pickable and flaky-bloody scabs, 3rd degree burns, frostbite, deep cuts, festering blisters & maggot-infested zombie wounds. 

The SFX Kits provided have everything needed from 6 Colour Grease Paint Wheel, a set of FX Brushes, Disposables, F/X Powder, FX sponges, Graftobian Modeling Wax 1 oz, Woochie Blood Gel 1oz, Woochie Liquid Latex 2 oz, Dirt Powder, Charcoal Powder, Gelatine Cube and so much more!

Time commitment - 10 x 1.5 hour workshops twice a day for a week. We will fully cover 2 effects per day - this aligns with the lesson load of our in-person camp. We allow for 1.5 hours to complete lessons but campers may be done faster or need more time. We are happy to move at the pace of the group and if that means extra time is required, we are happy to accommodate!  We don’t want the participants to feel rushed or overwhelmed in any way.

 

 

SPFX KIDS - Fresh Brains Level 2

Introduction to "Out of Kit" SFX Makeup

(August 9 - 13)

Suitable for students who have completed Fresh Brains Level 1
 

In this course, participants will learn: Severed fingers, Exposed Tendons, Homemade Guts, Decomposition, Broken Noses, Zombie skin, Exposed Teeth, Vein Work, Cat Puke, ripped cuticles and more!!!

Participants will have everything needed from 6 Colour Grease Paint Wheel, a set of FX brushes, F/X Powder, stipple sponge, Graftobian Modeling Wax, 1oz Woochie Blood Gel, 2oz Woochie Latex, 99% Isopropyl Alcohol Spray, 10ml Oral Syringe, Wax Paper Palettes, Pompom Garland, all disposables.

Time commitment - 10 x 1.5 hour workshops twice a day for a week. We will fully cover 2 effects per day - this aligns with the lesson load of our in-person camp. We allow for 1.5 hours to complete lessons but campers may be done faster or need more time. We are happy to move at the pace of the group and if that means extra time is required, we are happy to accommodate!  We don’t want the participants to feel rushed or overwhelmed in any way.

 

SPFX KIDS - Extra Bloody

Introduction to Sculpting & Prosthetics Application

(August 23 - 27)

Suitable for students who have completed our Fresh Brains Level 1 & 2 courses or else it is best suited to ages 13-16 years. This course is more advanced but we will be there to help them every step of the way!

In this course we will learn to create realistic 3D effects using sculpting techniques and prosthetics application. This includes completing a compound fracture bursting out of the skin, a skinned finger with exposed bone, Severed Hand Effect, and sculpting freshly pulled bloody molars! Students will also learn the basics for prosthetics application and removal using gelatine prosthetic pieces we provide, industry grade adhesives and remover, learning to apply a Keloid scar and a Zombie jaw (exposed teeth) piece! Followed by facial hair application.

SFX Kit provided includes: 10 Colour Grease Paint Palette, Woochie Blood Gel (Coagulated) 1oz, Woochie Liquid Latex 2oz, Graftobian Modeling Wax - Light Flesh 1oz, Graftobian Modeling Wax - Blood 1oz, prosthetic scar set, Exposed Zombie Teeth Prosthetic, Scar Prosthetics, Graftobian Spirit Gum 1/4 oz, Graftobian Pro-Adhesive Remover 2oz (isopropyl myristate), Witch Hazel 1oz, Crepe Hair, Polymer Clay 2oz, Wood Sculpting Tool, Disposables, F/X stipple sponge, F/X brush set and Isopropyl Alcohol (99%).

The schedule for all sessions is as follows:

Morning Session 10:30AM - 12 Noon

Lunch Break - 12 Noon - 1:00PM

Afternoon Session 1:00PM - 2:30PM

REGISTRATION

A $200.00 Deposit is required at the time of booking. Balance payment will be invoiced 21 days prior to camp start date with payment due no later than 14 days prior to camp start.

Cancellation Policy:

Due to shipping timelines, cancellation requests must be received in writing no later than 14 days from the course start date.

Any cancellation inside of 14 days will forfeit their deposit.
